Sunbird is seeking a full-time, year-round line cook to join our kitchen team.
You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative group of professionals who produce consistently great food with seasonally fresh ingredients. Our ideal candidate is career-driven with industry passion and curiosity that goes beyond any one position.
Our line cooks are key to Sunbird's daily success. They are dependable, durable, versatile, self-motivated team players. We are a very busy year-round cafe that gets hit hardest in the summer months. Our chef/owners will be working full tilt along side of you each day. It’s birds of a feather cranking it out together. If this is your jam, read on!
We offer our line cooks a competitive hourly pay based on their performance, attention to detail, and ability to help keep our kitchen clean, well-organized, and ready for every shift.

Experience preferred, but not required
Able to work breakfast and lunch shifts (6am-5pm)
Follows leadership direction well
Open to fielding different tasks including line cook, food prep, dishwashing etc.
Ability to operate industrial kitchen equipment
Able to concentrate and multitask within a hot, fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
Possess basic knife and food preparation skills
Possess strong communication skills and are able to work well with their fellow cooks
Can maintain sanitation standards and facility cleanliness and are knowledgeable of health department requirements, as directed by supervisor
Are responsible for cleaning working areas, equipment, floors and may act as dishwasher as needed
Can work weekend and holiday hours
Ability to stand and move quickly for extended periods
are able to regularly lift 20-30lbs, and occasionally heavier items up to 40-50lbs
